The Royal Norwegian Navy Band is an outstanding band and play in SRC’s first overseas recording, with a typical military band programme of Norwegian music. Halvorsen’s Norwegian Rhapsody No.1 and three of Grieg’s Norwegian Dances help to give this wonderful CD a real ‘Norwegian’ feel. Don’t be frightened of some of the serious titles – this is a superb hour’s entertainment and includes some very upbeat jazz numbers!
